“I’ve always worked hard to put the patient first and improve the patient experience. Over the years new digital technology has helped me to achieve this and it’s fundamentally changed the way I work.

As a practice we’ve invested in a number of things, most recently 2 CEREC® units. During this time and up to now, the help and support I received from Hannah, Henry Schein’s Connect Dental specialist, has been amazing. Her expertise and product knowledge in CADCAM filled me with confidence right from the start. She’s incredibly helpful and always there for advice in a difficult case or letting me know about the latest materials.

The precision-fit CEREC brings is, in my opinion, second to none. I’ve never had such confidence in the fit, occlusion and aesthetics of my restoration and it’s great to have such control in-house.

Patients are amazed, not only by the natural look of the restoration, but the speed in which I can do things. Some of our busier patients even work whilst their crown is being designed and made.

Doing many of my crowns and veneers in-house has led to significant savings, not only in cost but in time too. I’ve worked out I save 20 minutes per restoration with CEREC, and over the weeks and months this can amount to quite a few days I get back. I’ve also made some savings in laboratory fees and temporaries.

Those cases I do outsource to the laboratory – the particularly complex cases – nearly always come back perfect. Because of the improved communications ‘going digital’ brings, it means less impression faults and remakes. My relationship with my laboratory has actually improved as a result and more of my work fits beautifully.

We’ve increased business as a result of digital dentistry – with patient referrals coming in as well as referrals from other dentists. We have recouped our investment of 2 CEREC milling units in 2 years.

For our practice, digital dentistry is simply the way forward. It’s significantly helped us with our busy working patients.”
